Bee Moth, common name for a moth having a slender, brownish or ashen-colored body and long legs. The larva feeds on the wax of honey bee combs, often destroying the honey and injuring the bee brood. The larva of the smaller, but closely related, wax moth also feeds on honeycombs.
Scientific classification: The bee moth belongs to the family Pyralidae. It is classified as Galleria mellonella.
